SYNOPSIS:
Ready, set, RIDE! The smash-hit London musical makes its U.S. premiere. It’s1895, and Annie Londonderry wants to discover if a woman can ride a bicyclearound the world. The only problem? She’s only ridden one twice! As Annie andher secretary Martha share unbelievable adventures across four continents, theylearn that no matter how far we ride, our past is always right behind us. Witha high-energy score direct from London's West End, this musical spins Annie’sunbelievable journey into a dazzling, empowering ride through identity, media,and reinvention.
ROLES:
ANNIE - Female presenting, 20s. A natural storyteller and performer, Annie isfiercely ambitious and unafraid to bend the truth to get ahead. She's aJewish-Latvian immigrant who reinvents herself as a globetrotting sensation,masking real vulnerability with sharp wit and bravado. Must be able to ride abicycle.
MARTHA - Female presenting, 20s. Initially shy and rule-abiding, but finds hercourage and her voice through a connection with Annie. She is emotionallyhonest and surprisingly funny. Must be able to ride a bicycle.
Those unable to attend auditions in Winnipeg may ask to submit a taped videoaudition.
