Young Audience Development

Since 1994, Young Audience Development presentations of WJT mainstage plays have brought live theatre to over 20,000 students. Each Young Audience presentation includes a talk-back session with the actors and study guides for teachers.

With the generous support of Great West Life, our Young Audience Development continues in this our 23rd season and our plays are able to reach and inspire new generations of theatre lovers.

For more information on upcoming young audience performances and school bookings please call the theatre at 477-7515.

Apprentice Programs

WJT has filled a void in the theatre community by providing theatre training to Winnipeg youth who may not have had the opportunity to become involved in professional theatre. Many of the students who apprenticed with WJT have gone on to work at larger theatre companies such as Manitoba Theatre Centre and Prairie Theatre Exchange.

The goal of this program is to help local youth between the ages of 16 and 24 secure some experience in the theatre. To date WJT has had success with students from Sisler High School and the University of Winnipeg. We hope to expand the program to all interested youth.
